There's a little boy in the book of Samuel
Whose name is little David and he could ride a camel.
One day as he was working with his daddy's sheep
Jesse said to David, "Your brothers need to eat."
All the men of Israel in the valley low
Marchin' into battle with the Philistines did go.
Little David he was braver than any in the land.
"This day God will deliver thee into my hands."
And he went slingin'.
[Now David left his carriage in the keepers hand.
The giant named Goliath came a sweepin' cross the land.
The hosts of Israel, yes, they did flee.
Little David he was braver than any in the land,
"This day God will deliver thee into my hands."
And he went slingin'.]*
Now David said to Saul, "Let men's hearts be not afraid
The bear and the lion I slew both in one day."
Now Saul he was the king of the Israelites we know.
He armed little David and assayed him to go.
And he went slingin'. He went slingin'. Oh he went slingin'.
With a sword and a shield, Saul sent him on his way.
But David could not use them so aside He did lay.
Five stones did he pick up and place one in his sling.
And there among God's people David killed that Philistine.
And he went slingin'. He went slingin'. Oh he went slingin'.
Little David he was braver than any in the land.
"This day God will deliver thee into my hands."
And he went slingin'.
